As a key member of our Prepared Foods Department, this position is responsible for training all department team members in customer service, product preparation, food safety, quality control, and merchandising. Key Responsibilities:- Demonstrate exceptional leadership in customer service in all areas of the Prepared Foods Department.
- Use understanding of customer journey to train team members on identifying opportunities for interaction, service, and accommodations.
- Teach team members effective greeting techniques, how to customize approach, ask questions to determine needs, utilize active listening skills, make product recommendations, and exceed customer expectations.
- Work with team members to ensure customer service expectations are consistently achieved.
- Ensure team members are trained to adhere to all food safety and sanitation requirements.
- Train team members on effectively completing projects, tasks, and activities in the most efficient manner.
- Educate team members on product knowledge; foster a positive learning environment by encouraging team members to sample products, ask questions, and provide product information to be used in assisting customers.
- Train team members to follow food preparation guidelines including quality, freshness, and portion control.
- Instruct team members on department display and merchandising standards including signage.
- Assist department leadership with new program and policy rollouts; ensure team members are familiar with new processes and procedures.
- Provide regular feedback to team members in-training and give input to Prepared Foods Team Leader identifying strengths and areas of opportunity for continued development.
- Minimum one year food service experience within company strongly preferred.
- Ability to work various shifts to accommodate training needs.
- Demonstrate an interest in learning; possess a strong interest in food and related products.
- Must possess a minimum of one year of customer service experience.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality output while working within deadlines a must. Sense of urgency required. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation; take initiative; problem solve.
- Possess knowledge of food safety and HACCP/department of health guidelines, and inventory/portion control.
- Successful experience with food merchandising and display preferred.
- Possess adequate product information with a proven history of using knowledge to best service customers. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of food, including ingredients, applications, pronunciations, and culinary skills. Possess a genuine passion for food.
- Proven success as a team member; demonstrated ability to work well with diverse groups of people.
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills required.
