We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our team as a CVICU Specialist in Houston, TX.
As a CVICU Travel Nurse with Travel Nurse Across America, you will work closely with a diverse team of caregivers to provide specialized care to patients following open-heart surgery and heart transplants.
The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years' recent acute care experience and possess excellent critical thinking skills, ability to multitask, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing critical care to patients with life-threatening heart conditions
- Administering prescribed medications
- Taking samples for diagnostic tests and ordering, interpreting, and evaluating test results
- Applying hemodynamic, phlebotomy, and IV protocols
- Providing CPR and operating defibrillators hospital-wide
- Educating patients and family members on recovery at home
Candidates must be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty, and easily lift 20 pounds. Lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
To be eligible for this role, candidates must hold an active RN license, ACLS certification, BLS certification, and NIH certification. Two years of experience in a similar setting is also required.
