Job Description

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in solution architecture design and development for various technology programs in the Banking domain. This role requires expertise in understanding the current technical architecture of Bank applications and upgrading or defining new architecture applications to support future and current applications.

This senior-level position involves software design and the integration of all applications in this domain with other systems in the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of technology stacks, including Java /J2EE, JSR 352 Batch Micro services Architecture (Spring Boot), SPA (REACT JS / REDUX), OpenShift /Docker Container, AWS & OpenShift Cloud, IBM MQ, Kafka, and Camel.

The Transformation Architect will be responsible for creating solution artifacts and related architecture viewpoints for various stakeholders' communication and documentation. This position requires strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead large, multi-million-dollar programs.

The successful candidate will have significant experience with Banking and financial services domain, in particular architecting integration solutions around policy administration or claims on public or private cloud. Experience with defining and ensuring adherence to enterprise integration patterns and standards is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud solutions, cloud-native application design, development, and migration of applications over to cloud using AWS / OpenShift. Experience with Agile scrum or kanban methodology is also required.

This role involves conceptualizing, designing, and developing proof of concepts / prototypes to validate proposed solution options. The Transformation Architect will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders and Bank domain architects to select the most suitable solution options.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide solutions to business problems and translate functional requirements into a solution architecture that describes high-level architecture and design.
  2. Develop design principles, architecture standards, and guidelines, solution architecture, and high-level design for various IT programs.
  3. Engage with various internal and external stakeholders and Bank domain architects and select the most suitable solution options.
  4. Create solution artifacts and related architecture viewpoints for various stakeholders' communication and documentation.
  5. Identify various solution risks to the program management team and effectively support in managing the risks.
  6. Work with application design and development teams in directing and guiding through solution implementation.
  7. Conceptualize, design, and develop proof of concepts / prototypes to validate proposed solution options.
Essential Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
  2. At least 10+ years of experience in technical architecture, software, or product engineering.
  3. At least 5+ years of significant experience with Banking and financial services domain, in particular architecting integration solutions around policy administration or claims on public or private cloud.
  4. Significant experience with defining and ensuring adherence to enterprise integration patterns and standards.
  5. Experience creating a loosely coupled, services-oriented design that can scale for wide ranging services.
  6. Experience supporting extensibility, to plug new modules or services without requiring re-design.
  7. Extensive experience working with, and enhancing, Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Development (CD) environments.
  8. Working knowledge and experience on cloud solutions, cloud-native application design, development, and migration of applications over to cloud using AWS / OpenShift.
  9. Experience with Agile scrum or kanban methodology.
  10. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  11. Experience in analysis and resolution of multi-dimensional enterprise-wide problems.
  12. Demonstrated abilities to lead large, multi-million-dollar programs.
  13. Hands-on ability to build reference architecture and reference implementations to lead and guide the development and engineering staff.
