Job Title: Recreational Therapist

Bradford Health Services is seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team in a clinical setting. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide patients with Adventure Based Counseling and leisure activities to support their recovery from chemical dependency.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' leisure, physical disability, psychomotor performance, and play abilities.
  • Develop and implement activity plans tailored to individual patients' needs.
  • Schedule and lead a variety of recreational activities to meet the needs of our patient population.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patients' participation in activities.
  • Provide leisure education to patients and their families.
  • Manage the Adventure Based Counseling (ABC) program, ensuring safety and proper equipment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, managers, and clients to provide exceptional care.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field and current certification (CTRS) or other recognized national certification.
  • Experience working with adult and adolescent chemically dependent individuals.
  • At least one year of experience in the field of behavioral health.
  • Valid Alabama driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • CPR and first aid certification.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, with frequent walking, running, bending, and standing for approximately 3-4 hours per 8-hour shift. The successful candidate must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations.
