SMT AOI/Inspector Job Description

At Volt, we are seeking a skilled SMT AOI/Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our electronic assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hand soldering, solder touch-up, and rework of various electronic assemblies
  • Performing FPI and in-line inspection, and solder touch-up of assemblies after SMT reflow
  • Operating SMT AOI machines for component placement and solder joint defects
  • Visually inspecting populated printed circuit boards and identifying component misplacement and solder defects
  • Reading and verifying blueprints, interpreting customer BOMs, assembly drawings, and assembly instructions
  • Certified to IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
  • Willing to work overtime and flexible with scheduling

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with three to five years of related experience and/or training
  • Ability to complete work in a timely manner, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness, and promoting quality
  • Consistent attendance and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in English

Additional Qualifications:
Familiarity with machine shop tools and equipment, including lathes, grinders, saws, and debarring equipment. Ability to read and write in English.

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour. Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
