Job Title: Construction Laborer

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Construction Laborer to join our team at VSS International, Inc. This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic company that values its employees and offers a competitive compensation package.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and tear down construction equipment, preparing it for transportation and operation.
  • Perform various labor duties during road construction operations, including preventative maintenance and daily inspections.
  • Control traffic through work zones safely and hold Flagger Certification Credentials.
  • Communicate effectively with other employees to ensure the safety of the general public in work zone areas.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of construction equipment and loading/unloading of traffic control and other construction equipment.
  • Complete timecards in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Qualified individuals will drive Class A or B vehicles between construction sites and stockpiles, keeping equipment loaded with material.
  • Maintain professional relationships with the public and establish good public relations.
  • Attend work regularly and perform general construction labor duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal and external drivers and customers.
  • Current driver's license in good standing (Class A preferred).
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects using organizational skills and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work and a strong commitment to company goals.
  • Ability to function under fast-paced, stressful working conditions within live traffic.
  • Prior pavement preservation experience is required.
