Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager will oversee accounts receivable fund operations and support client services in accordance with Company guidelines, client needs, and legislative requirements.
This role requires strong leadership and supervision skills, as well as the ability to develop and maintain effective employee relations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial operations and be able to optimize workflows and processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily leadership and supervision to staff consistent with management values and mission.
- Assign, distribute, and monitor quality and quantity of work produced, ensuring employees are held accountable for consistently meeting quality and production requirements.
- Develop staff through performance management, goal setting, training, and effective employee relations.
- Maintain current knowledge of assigned Plan(s) and effectively apply knowledge.
- Optimize workflows/processes, tools, and staff allocation to ensure efficient and cost-effective day-to-day operations.
- Troubleshoot customer/client service issues and assist in the successful implementation of new clients.
- Respond to inquiries and requests from clients, government agencies, unions, participants, attorneys, and consultants.
- Maintain effective communications and working relationships with management and staff as well as clients, government agencies, unions, participants, attorneys, and consultants.
- Reviews and approves timecards and time off requests; ensures the accuracy of labor allocations and payroll processing information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, management, or related field and two years of related work experience such as bookkeeping, finance, banking, accounting, or benefits administration.
- Or High school diploma and six years of related work experience such as bookkeeping, finance, banking, accounting, or benefits administration.
- Four years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- The ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office tools and applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a third-party administrator, insurance, or health and welfare environment.
- Prior experience in Taft-Hartley trust administration.
Working Conditions/Physical Effort:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
