About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgery Technician to join our team at Summit Surgical. As a Surgery Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and assisting in life-changing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with patients in a therapeutic, gentle, and friendly manner
  • Communicate reassurances and explanations consistently
  • Adapt nursing procedures to meet the needs of various patients
  • Assist in the maintenance and handling of special equipment and instruments
  • Position patients safely and appropriately
  • Carry out surgical asepsis and administer medications safely
  • Prepare and clean operating room suites before and after cases
  • Protect patient privacy and be sensitive to their needs
  • Set up for surgical procedures and maintain composure in emergency situations
  • Record and handle specimens accurately
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures
  • Perform lab testing and interpret results
  • Knowledge of storage, care, and use of equipment

Working Conditions:

This position works in varied environments, including medical offices, acute care facilities, operating rooms, and recovery rooms. You will be regularly exposed to patients' conditions and may interact with individuals who are angry, upset, or ill.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in an operating room
  • Effective computer skills and ability to learn new concepts quickly
  • Excellent organizational skills, honesty, accuracy, and ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, vendors, and the public

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Operating Room Tech certification
