Truck Driver CDL A Local 3rd Shift

The Driver, CDL-A is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive and drop routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading food and food related products to customers in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Responsibilities include:
- Inspecting tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations;
- Ensuring the tractor/truck and trailer meet company safety standards;
- Following all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies;
- Reporting all safety hazards;
- Inspecting trailer for properly loaded and secured freight;
- Completing all required paperwork associated with freight;
- Driving to and delivering customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule;
- Unloading products from the trailer, transporting items into designated customer storage areas;
- Performing damage control checks on items, scanning, and contacting supervisor about removing orders according to company policy;
- Verifying delivery of items with customer and obtaining proper signatures;
- Collecting money (cash or checks) where required;
- Ensuring that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured;
- Unloading all equipment, materials, and removing trash from trailers as required;
- Performing general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keeping trailers clear and clean as required.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of Tractor/Trailer driving experience;
- Valid CDL-A;
- Must be 21+ years of age.
