Job Summary:

As a Phlebotomist and Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our residents. This position combines the duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and phlebotomist, requiring a unique blend of clinical and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform routine nursing care, maintaining a safe environment and assisting with activities of daily living.
* Conduct blood draws for laboratory testing, ensuring proper identification and labeling of samples, and following safety protocols.
* Coordinate and assist with resident transportation to and from appointments, ensuring safety and adherence to schedules.
* Accurately document blood draws, patient interactions, and any incidents, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
* Clean and maintain phlebotomy equipment, reporting malfunctions and storing equipment properly.

Requirements:

* High School Diploma or equivalent; CNA certification in New York; Phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NPA, or similar).
* Minimum 1 year as a CNA in a skilled nursing facility; phlebotomy experience preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; attention to detail; ability to handle stressful situations; patience and compassion for working with elderly and disabled individuals.
* Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
