The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers comprehensive respiratory care services, ensuring patients receive optimal treatment and support. This includes performing diagnostic tests, administering therapies, and monitoring patient responses. About the Role
  • Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient responses and notify providers as needed.
  • Transport ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent situations.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification or obtain within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or obtain within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner Certificate issued by the Texas Medical Board.
  • RRT certification issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • 1 year critical care experience preferred; new graduates considered based on clinical rotations.

$62,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
