About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Director, Retirement Benefits to join our team at Zenith American Solutions. This leadership position plays a critical role in directing operations of Retirement Benefits for assigned locations or funds, ensuring alignment with Company guidelines, client needs, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily leadership and direction to multiple Retirement Benefits teams, upholding Company values and mission.
  • Develop management and supervisory staff through performance management, goal setting, training, and effective employee relations.
  • Oversee the assignment, distribution, and monitoring of daily operations to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Implement and monitor internal systems, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations in accordance with Plan guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage expenses for assigned teams to maintain operations within budget parameters and implement course corrections as needed.
  • Partner with Client Services to address and resolve service issues or escalations with clients.
  • Collaborate with other departments or teams to ensure efficient and accurate implementations or onboarding of new clients.
  • Provide regular reporting on operational metrics.
  • Attend Board of Trustee meetings to provide retirement benefits updates as needed.
  • May participate in presentations for new business or clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field and 7 years of experience working in retirement benefits, or
  • High school diploma and 10 years of experience working in retirement benefits, along with 5 years of experience in operations management.
  • Thorough knowledge of defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, 401(k) plans, and benefits administration systems.
  • Strong understanding of ERISA compliance or regulatory procedures.
  • Professional maturity with proven success nurturing internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to recruit, lead, and motivate a successful management team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude for strategic thinking and experience executing process improvement measures.
  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills, with the ability to optimize resource utilization and deliver on multiple priorities.
  • Ability to effectively manage remote employees in diverse locations and regions.
  • Willingness to travel as business dictates.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office tools and applications.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a third-party administrator or Taft-Hartley environment is desirable.

Estimated Salary Range
