Estimated Salary: $46,000 - $58,000 per yearKey Responsibilities

Assist the Attorney for the Child by conducting thorough interviews with clients in cases involving child abuse and neglect, custody, visitation, permanent termination of parental rights, paternity, juvenile delinquency, and persons in need of supervision. Create alternative disposition plans for clients and provide support services as needed.

  • Conduct interviews with children and adolescents in various settings to gather information related to Family Court Proceedings.
  • Provide home visits and inspections, as necessary, to assess client needs and circumstances.
  • Maintain communication with service providers, parents, and foster parents through telephone contacts to gather and update information.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed progress notes and recommendations for the Attorney for the Child.
  • Refer clients to community resources and follow up to ensure service availability, eligibility, and provision of service.
  • Orient clients to the courtroom and introduce them to the Attorney for the Child as needed.
  • Serve subpoenas on an as-needed basis.
  • Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work or a Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
  • A respectful and empathetic approach when interacting with clients.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and community partners.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (speaking and writing) is preferred.
