Position Summary:

As a registered nurse in our pediatric critical care unit, you will utilize the nursing process to deliver developmentally appropriate care to critically ill patients.

You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care that meets the patient's needs.

Job Profile:

This role requires in-depth professional knowledge and practical expertise in pediatric critical care nursing.

You will have knowledge of best practices and how your area integrates with others, demonstrating awareness of the industry and its evolving demands.

You will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating patient care, using clinical judgment based on nursing skills acquired through formal and informal experiential knowledge and evidence-based guidelines.

You will develop an appropriate plan of care for the patient, promoting comfort and ensuring that patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights, and guest relations.

You will oversee care delivered by the patient care team, coordinate the plan of care, and provide education and facilitate learning for patients, families, and the patient care team.

You will collaborate with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to assist in developing and implementing an appropriate plan of care.

How You'll Be Successful:

To be successful in this role, you will need at least 1.5 years of job-related pediatric critical acute care experience, a four-year Bachelor's degree in Nursing, and a current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.

You will also need Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, PALS/NRP certification, and PACES certification within 180 days.
