Lineman Journeyman

Evergy is seeking a skilled Lineman Journeyman to join our team in Leavenworth, Kansas. As a Lineman Journeyman, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical distribution and transmission systems.

• Install and maintain electrical distribution and transmission systems, including conduits, cables, wires, transformers, circuit breakers, and switches.
• Identify and repair defects in electrical systems, using wiring diagrams and electrical testing instruments.
• Inspect and test power lines and auxiliary equipment to locate and identify problems.
• String wire conductors and cables between poles, towers, trenches, pylons, and buildings.
• Replace or straighten damaged poles and test voltage to ensure correct connections are made.

• Valid commercial driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years of experience in the trade or previously classified as a First Class Lineman.
• Ability to operate all types of motor-driven equipment used in overhead, underground, and substation maintenance and construction work.
