About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our team in an evening shift position.

Job Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, processing and sterilizing surgical and hospital instruments and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling surgical instrument sets and trays, distributing patient care supplies and equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Decontaminate and process instruments, including compiling instrument sets, counting instruments, and recording counts
  • Sterilize instruments, trays, basins, etc., with the appropriate exposure/dry times
  • Prepare instruments for immediate use sterilization when necessary
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment in the department by daily wiping of counters, sinks, exterior surface of autoclaves, and high disinfection equipment
  • Clean the autoclave chambers on a weekly basis
  • Assist Operating Room Housekeeping with room turnover, terminal cleaning of Operating Room suites, and daily duties, if necessary
  • Assist with picking supplies/instruments for upcoming cases

Daily Diagnostic Testing:

  • Perform daily diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment, including test packs, biological indicators, and diagnostic cycles for Endoscope Processors
  • Evaluate instruments for function and safety when reprocessing
