Critical Care Nurse Specialist

In the Prisma Health Richland Hospital Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit, our team of expert nurses delivers exceptional care to critically ill patients with neurological conditions. As a Registered Nurse on our 16-bed unit, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide individualized care that prioritizes patient safety and satisfaction.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated nurse to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients and families. Key Responsibilities:
-Assessment and Planning: Collect comprehensive data through various assessments to inform your plan of care, considering the patient's unique needs and circumstances. Develop and implement evidence-based plans that promote optimal outcomes and patient-centered care.
-Care Implementation: Deliver high-quality, patient-focused care by administering medications, performing procedures, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals as needed. Ensure seamless handovers to colleagues and other departments to maintain continuity of care.
-Evaluation and Improvement: Continuously evaluate your practice and patient responses to interventions, revising your plan of care as necessary to achieve desired outcomes. Identify opportunities for quality improvement and incorporate recommendations into your practice.
-Patient Education and Advocacy: Empower patients and families to take an active role in their care by providing clear, concise education and supporting them throughout their journey. Advocate for patients' rights and needs, fostering a collaborative relationship between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, as well as excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a similar setting is preferred. In lieu of this experience, completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program is accepted. SC Licensed RN (Registered Nurse) licensure is also required. Basic computer skills and mathematical abilities are necessary for success in this position.
Benefits:
This full-time Registered Nurse position offers a competitive salary range of $68,000 - $83,000 per year, depending on experience.
