Meat and Seafood Specialist

Bj's Wholesale Club offers a unique opportunity to excel in the meat and seafood department. As a Meat and Seafood Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining high-quality products, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Job Summary: This role involves receiving, rotating, and merchandising fresh meats, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses. You will assist members by answering questions and recommending products, while maintaining all cleaning and safety standards within the meat department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receives, unpacks, and stores meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer.
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including the meat cooler, freezer, and refrigerated display cases.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates, following established guidelines when disposing of damaged and/or expired products.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures, performing other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats is preferred.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines is also preferred.
• Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department is beneficial.
• At least 18 years of age is required.

Environmental Conditions:

• This role involves frequent movement on hard surfaces, occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping.
• Frequent lifting of objects up to 30 pounds may be required, with occasional lifting and moving of heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
• The work area is located in a comfortable indoor environment with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises.

Estimated Salary Range: $15.25 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. A competitive salary range reflects our commitment to fairness and equity in compensation practices.
