About the Role

  • You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing the most efficient application processors on the planet, powering the next generation of Apple products.">
  • As a Lead Physical Design Engineer, you will use your experience in physical design and machine learning to solve complex problems and develop methodologies with high impact on upcoming products.">
  • You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including design, power, post-silicon, CAD, software, and machine learning, to ensure that our SoCs achieve optimal Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) metrics.">
  • Your work will directly impact various areas of the flow, including RTL design, logic synthesis, floor planning, place and route, timing/noise analysis, power/thermal analysis, voltage drop analysis, and design for manufacturing/yield.">

Requirements

  • ">
  • A minimum of 10+ years of relevant industry experience and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.">
  • Strong understanding of optimization algorithms, complex data structures, and linear algebra.">
  • Familiarity with VLSI fundamentals, including physical design.">
  • Practical experience with advanced machine learning algorithms like Graph Neural Networks, Variational Autoencoders, transformers, diffusion models, and Large Language Models.">
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and C/C++.">
  • Mastery of Master's or PhD-level knowledge in Machine Learning and/or Electronic Design Automation (EDA) algorithms.">
  • Superior communication and organizational skills.">

We estimate the base salary for this role to be between $175,800 and $312,200, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, you may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments, relocation assistance, and employee stock programs.
