Job Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

This position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for solutions to unique environmental issues.
  • Oversee protocols that implement Federal, State, and local laws/guidelines.
  • Provide advice to the organization on the use and interpretation of new environmental regulations that impact the organization's mission.
  • Help plan, organize, and/or provide technical assistance with environmental topics.

Requirements:

  • One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the development of policies and procedures for solutions to unique environmental issues.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

What to Expect:

  • Develop annual environmental work plans and funding for projects under the direction of the Senior Environmental Protection Specialist.
  • Formulate and develop implementing policies and procedures to provide solutions to resolve unique environmental issues within Installation Management Command (IMCOM).
  • Prepare, review, analyze, and determine acceptability of environmental documents, to include manifests, disposal records, inspection records, analytical test results, etc.
  • Prepares and conducts compliance audits, training sessions, workshops, and other activities for clients to maintain conformance with environmental regulations.
  • Provides overall direction to Garrison and tenant organizations to maintain compliance with assigned environmental programs.

Additional Information:

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
