Position Summary:

As Construction Safety Advisors at CMI, our primary focus is on implementing industry best practices, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and fostering a culture of safety improvement across various construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide, instruct, and train personnel on safety procedures
  • Promote a positive safety environment within the team
  • Participate in safety meetings as required, at varying intervals
  • Conduct on-site assessments and recommend safety practices
  • Facilitate pre-task planning, audits, job safety analyses (JSAs), and permit processes
  • Deliver site-specific orientations, training sessions, and toolbox discussions
  • Prepare reports as necessary for the job site

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of direct experience in construction safety oversight
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical sector is highly desirable
  • Thorough understanding of Construction Safety Standards (1926)
  • Proven expertise in various construction and safety methodologies
  • Preferably experienced in overseeing ground-up construction safety
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applications

Education and Credentials:

  • OSHA 30 Construction certification obtained within the last 5 years
  • OSHA 510 and/or 500 certifications preferred
  • Credentials from BCSP, STSC, CHST, or CSP are strongly preferred
  • A degree in a safety-related field is preferred
  • First Aid CPR AED certification is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often on uneven surfaces.
  • Capability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to stoop, crawl, and bend.
  • Capacity to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs.

Additional Requirements:

  • Background checks and potential drug screenings are required for this position.
  • Overtime and flexible hours may be necessary based on project needs.
  • Residence within a reasonable commuting distance is expected.
