Program Overview

Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven is seeking a Community Sustainability AmeriCorps VISTA to empower residents of disadvantaged communities in Connecticut as they transition to a clean energy future. This role is vital in advancing energy and environmental equity in a state with some of the highest utility costs and energy burdens.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and revise materials that clearly communicate the benefits of the energy concierge program.
• Assess and enhance existing promotional materials for accessibility and clarity.
• Collaborate with the communications team to ensure cohesive branding.
• Engage with residents and local partners in environmental justice initiatives.
• Organize and host events to raise awareness about sustainability programs.
• Collect feedback to understand residents' needs and barriers to participation.
• Assist in developing and refining data collection and reporting systems to enhance program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with staff to implement improvements in data management and storage.
