Infection Prevention Specialist

The Infection Prevention Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and infection control at Genesis HealthCare. This key position oversees infection prevention and control programs, managing employee health initiatives to minimize infection risks.

Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the nursing centers' Infection Control and Prevention Program to minimize the risk of infection
- Manage the employee health program, including universal influenza vaccination
- Facilitate infection control training for all newly hired employees and conduct annual competency training for nurses administering tuberculosis testing
- Review immunization documentation/status for all new hires with the center to ensure compliance
- A competitive salary range of $85,000 - $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience

To be successful in this role, you must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing. A BSN is preferred, and Infection Control and Prevention certification is strongly recommended. A minimum of three years full-time or equivalent nursing experience is required, with a minimum of two years of nursing experience in long-term care nursing. One year of experience in a management/administrative or supervisory capacity is preferred, as well as previous experience in infection control. Must work flexible hours to meet with employees working evening and night shifts.
