About the Role

Atrium Health Charlotte is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its team in providing high-quality patient care in the Oncology department.

As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate and individualized care to patients with oncological conditions. Your expertise in nursing practices and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams will be essential in achieving excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing personalized treatment plans that cater to their unique requirements.
  • Oncology Treatment Administration: Administer and manage chemotherapy, infusion therapies, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosages and monitoring patients for potential side effects.
  • Coordination of Care: Work closely with colleagues from various departments to ensure seamless transitions between stages of care, guaranteeing continuity and consistency in patient treatment.
  • Education and Support: Provide clear explanations of treatment options, medication regimens, and self-care instructions to patients and their families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health.
Requirements

To be considered for this rewarding opportunity, you should possess:

  • Nursing Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an oncology or related setting, with a strong foundation in nursing practices and current standards of care.
  • Education and Certifications: A valid RN license in North Carolina and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; BLS certification required.
  • Skill Set: Proficiency in IV therapy, bone marrow procedures, spinals, thoracenteses, paracenteses, phlebotomy, and other oncology-related skills.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, families, and healthcare teams.
