About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanical Estimator to join our team at Ames Construction. This position is responsible for assisting bid teams in preparing accurate job costs, verifying costs with suppliers and labor, and coordinating turnover efforts with project managers.


">Key Responsibilities
">
  • Develop strategies to win work through purchasing, subcontracting, and labor cost savings methods.
  • Create estimating systems for general construction use.
  • Analyze trades estimates to determine the best cost estimate for project conditions.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
  • Review data to determine material and labor requirements.
  • Identify risks during estimation and determine mitigation plans.
  • Compute cost factors and prepare management-level estimates.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates.
  • Collaborate with proposal teams to ensure client requirements are satisfied.

">Requirements and Qualifications
">
  • A minimum of five years of experience in estimating or project management in the heavy industrial mechanical construction industry.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytic skills and financial analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and estimating software applications such as HCSS or Bluebeam.
  • Knowledgeable in Primavera.

">Work Environment
">
  • This position is based in West Valley City, UT, with subsequent projects regionally based.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach, and climb in a construction site environment.
  • Extensive sitting at a desk and computer in an office environment, with some standing, bending, stooping, and reaching required.

">Compensation
">

The estimated salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
