Medical Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, situated in Portsmouth, NH. As a vital member of our staff, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare services.
Job Summary:
The Medical Support Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional patient-centered care by performing various delegated tasks related to nursing functions and activities of daily living. Working under the supervision of a registered nurse, this position assists the nursing staff in maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with mobility by turning and positioning them, helping with ambulation, and transferring patients to and from other units or departments.
- Obtain and record patient information, including vital signs, height, weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other relevant data.
- Help patients with activities of daily living, such as eating, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination.
- Perform specimen collection and ensure accurate labeling and timely transfer.
- Serve as a Monitor/Telemetry Tech as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
