About the Role
We are seeking skilled Claims Handlers to join our team. In this role, you will analyze low to high-level Workers Compensation claims on behalf of our valued clients to determine benefits due, while ensuring ongoing adjudication of claims within service expectations, industry best practices, and specific client service requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzing and processing claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution by investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
- Reporting claims to the excess carrier and responding to requests for directions in a professional and timely manner.
- Managing claim recoveries if applicable.
- Negotiating settlement of claims within designated authority.
- Referring cases as appropriate to supervisor and management.
- Calculating and assigning timely and appropriate reserves to claims.
- Ensuring claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.
- Communicating claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Claims Associates: 1+ years experience
- Claims Representatives: 3+ years experience
- Claims Examiners & Litigation Consultants: 5+ years experience
- Licensing / Jurisdiction Knowledge: Active adjusters license preferred for Representative & Examiner level roles. Jurisdictional experience with AZ, CO & UT highly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is between $50,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on location and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
