Senior Business Development Specialist
At Coder, we're on a mission to revolutionize the way software developers work.
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Development Specialist to join our commercial sales department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying, progressing, and closing revenue opportunities with customers for our Developer Workspace Platform.
Responsibilities
- Communicate the Coder value proposition to prospective customers through initial and follow-on meetings, using data-driven insights and storytelling techniques.
- Demonstrate the Coder software to decision-makers and on initial calls to determine qualification, before engaging our technical team.
- Build a pipeline of qualified opportunities based on your professional network and exceptional outbound hunting skills.
- Close revenue opportunities by working closely with customers to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with solutions architects and engineers to deliver an exceptional experience to prospective customers and customers.
- Efficiently handle inbound leads, including prompt meeting setup and coordination of Coder resources through the sales cycle.
- Establish relationships with key decision-makers, such as leadership in DevOps, Engineering, Information Security, CTO, and CIO.
What This Job Is Not
- This role is not for account executives who rely on inbound leads or have only closed deals at large companies where the deal would have closed with or without them.
- This role is not for lone wolves who are not team players – Coder's success is from tight coordination with solutions architects, engineers, finance, co-founders, and marketing.
Qualifications
- Past work experience at both startup and large software companies.
- Self-driven and excellent at outbound prospecting.
- 5+ years of experience in software and/or SaaS prospecting and sales.
- A track record of exceeding performance objectives, such as revenue targets, pipeline targets, and outbound activity.
- Excellent written and presentation communication skills.
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of developer tools, CI/CD, and the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Degree in Computer Science.
- Passion for open-source software.
- Strong opinions about engineering workflow.
Salary
$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
Benefits
At Coder, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and generous paid time off.
Interview Process
We believe that the interview process should be consistent and enjoyable. We prefer the entire process to take no more than two weeks. During these two weeks, you will be able to meet a mix of individual contributors, managers, and one of our Co-Founders. If you interview for a position requiring a take-home assessment, we will compensate you for your work and time.
Our Values
Harness Your Inner Geek
Be who you are, use your unique talents to solve the problems you see, shout out your colleagues' contributions and abilities, and be transparent and driven about what motivates you to do your best work here at Coder.
Be Bold and Show Your Work
We're going to fail sometimes, and that's how we get better. Risks are a path to innovation, so we value bold, informed, fast-paced experimentation. And we also want you to communicate when it works or when it doesn't so that we all can learn from each other.
Take Action with Ownership
Don't wait for someone to give you permission to get things done. At Coder, we find leverage quickly and generate outcomes while staying lean. We don't want you to stay in your lane – we want you to get curious, go after problems, and ship smart solutions together with your teammates. If you pick something up, take it to the finish line.
Don't F&ck Your Team
We love what we do and work to achieve success together. We all win when we pitch in. We have fun and keep our goal in mind: to build a product that solves our users' problems better than anything else. That means we jump in to help, make time for our teammates, and share our ideas so everyone can benefit.
Have Empathy for Our Users
We're an open-core company, and we value user input, intensive collaboration, and empathy for our customers from the biggest enterprises to the individual developers using our product to code faster and with less friction.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer
All qualified applicants will receive consideration without discrimination because of sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, race, color, age, national origin, military status, religion, or disability or any other legally protected status.
