Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Charge Nurse to join our team at Stormont-Vail Healthcare, Inc. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

About the Role

The Charge Nurse will be responsible for managing patient care, staff, and department operations. This includes providing leadership, administrative support, and resource management to ensure the delivery of professional nursing care aligning with our mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care as defined by the state's nurse practice act.
  • Formulate prioritized plans of care based on patient needs and outcomes.
  • Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and standards development.
  • Delegate tasks and duties to healthcare team members and coordinate department activities.
  • Adhere to staffing and scheduling practices.
Physical Demands
  • Balancing, carrying, climbing, crawling, crouching, driving, eye-hand-foot coordination, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, operating foot controls, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, sitting, standing, stooping, talking, and walking.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to burn, chemical, combative patients, dusts, electrical, explosive, extreme temperatures, infectious diseases, mechanical, needle stick, noise/sounds, other atmospheric conditions, poor ventilation, radiant energy, risk of exposure to blood and body fluids, risk of exposure to hazardous drugs, hazards, and vibration.
