Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Key Account Executive to join our team at Stryker. As a Key Account Executive, you will be responsible for contracting and account management activities driven through Corporate Supply Chain relationships within named IDNs in a defined region.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the medical device market, including disposables, capital equipment, and implantable products. They will also have excellent time management skills, with the ability to use independent judgment to prioritize effectively.

The Key Account Executive will work closely with our sales team to develop and execute business strategies, identify new opportunities, and drive long-term customer loyalty. They will also be responsible for maintaining routine communication with divisional sales forces, re-enforcing established relationships with Supply Chain personnel, and building supply chain allies to ensure Stryker gets the last look in all desired contracting activities.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in medical device sales and/or marketing roles, with a proven track record of success working cross-divisionally and collaboratively. They will also have excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues using independent judgment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining routine communication with divisional sales forces to gather and share information as part of their IDN account management and contracting strategies.
  • Re-enforcing established relationships with all pertinent Supply Chain personnel, including leads of contracting, value analysis, and other key decision makers.
  • Building supply chain allies that ensure Stryker gets the last look in all desired contracting activities.
  • Maintaining an ongoing dialog with the customer to listen, understand, and bring the best of Stryker to improve patient outcomes and streamline the buying process.
  • Monitoring all product conversion opportunities, applying analytics, and reporting regularly on progress both internally and externally.
  • Identifying and helping coordinate new opportunities with Supply Chain and sales to build new business and protect existing business through coordinated sales efforts, improved agreements, and contract compliance.
  • Serving as a point of access and coordination for MedSurg/Orthopedics/NT sales to the IDN's key economic and operational resources.
  • Partnering with divisional Strategic Sales/Business Unit Liaisons to incorporate accurate BU pricing goals and strategies into customer proposals and agreements.
  • Using the Contract Enablement function & Finance to help propose the most complete and advantageous cross-divisionally contract positions.
  • Meeting IDN objectives concerning orders growth and preferred vendor agreements and other performance metrics.
  • Leading or teaming up with other KAE's to perform Stryker Portfolio Business Reviews.
  • Developing comprehensive annual account reports, IDN opportunity roadmaps, and collaborating with sales to ensure alignment with BU strategy and objectives, MedSurg/Orthopedics/NT goals.
  • Working with Supply Chain to assist sales in accelerating the sales process and removing obstacles, identifying opportunities, and driving long-term customer loyalty.
  • Following the established SYK Legal Contracting process during agreement creation and execution.
  • Proactively monitoring contract compliance levels and evaluating and communicating results to improve compliance, target new business, and contract cross-divisionally ahead of expiration.
  • Tracking monthly progress against goals; identifying Successes, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT).

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and collaborative individual with excellent emotional and executive intelligence. They will have a strong understanding of the medical device market and excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues using independent judgment.
