Culinary Arts Educator

We are seeking a qualified part-time adjunct instructor to teach courses in the Culinary Arts Department at Alamance Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and academic support to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective instruction that promotes student engagement and retention
  • Stay current in their field and in teaching methodology
  • Create meaningful assessments and evaluate student work according to departmental standards
  • Maintain accurate student records, including course attendance
  • Be available for students during office or lab hours for assistance

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related discipline or demonstrated competencies in teaching specific culinary courses
  • ServeSafe Manager Certification
  • Able to manually demonstrate Culinary practical skills, and teach all culinary topics
  • Dresses professionally and arrives on time for classes
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships within an education setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary teaching experience, preferably in a community college environment
  • Minimum of two years of culinary industry experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Department Head, co-workers and students
