Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. This role is responsible for the repair, maintenance, calibration, and certification of laboratory equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and certifications of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain a physical inventory of key equipment repair parts.
  • Install and test new equipment to ensure proper working condition and accurate asset management.
  • Assist in instructing laboratory personnel on the proper use of instruments, asset documentation, and maintenance requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining calibration equipment used on laboratory and operational support equipment.
  • Coordinate internal and external service requirements to ensure timely repairs and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain asset management database to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and document educational and training requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and document standard operating procedure requirements.
  • Ensure documentation and implementation of corrective action procedures.
  • Participate in corporate and local QA functions to standardize and improve laboratory service standards.
  • Maintain the integrity of all support hard files.
  • Prepare all administrative service and purchase requisitions.
  • Submit monthly PM and certification database reports with corrective actions to the department manager.
  • Perform special projects as assigned by department manager.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Experience with PC database and word processing programs.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Logical thought process, accountability, physical dexterity, and the ability to clearly/effectively communicate with team members and lab personnel outside the department.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
