Job Summary

DISH Network L.L.C is seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer I to join our Wireless Development organization. As a Field Engineer I, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and performing preventive maintenance on cell site equipment in our wireless network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and support CU-CP and CU-UP functions using VMWare Telco Cloud, troubleshoot configuration issues.
  • Inspect site cabinets, validate breaker placement, GPS cables, fiber connections, and antenna positions.
  • Perform single-site verification for VSWR, PIM, RET, and fiber connection issues using EXFO tools.
  • Collaborate with RF, microwave, and transport teams to troubleshoot and resolve integration and commissioning issues.
  • Maintain inventory records, submit reports, resolve network tickets within SLAs, and ensure compliance with DISH standards.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in telecommunications with direct experience in RAN, 4G LTE cell site troubleshooting, and testing.
  • A technical degree in Electronics or Telecommunications or a combination of military and industry experience will be considered.
  • Experience with testing protocols for transport, RF, base-station turn-up, and commissioning.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting antenna systems, PIM, VSWR, MIMO, and RET using tools like spectrum analyzers.
  • Expertise in base station equipment from vendors like Lucent, Nokia, Samsung, or Ericsson, and fiber network integration.
  • Skilled in fiber testing (dark/lit) using OTDR and fiberscope, with telecom experience in T1, DACS, or OMP.
  • Electronics training in telecommunications, with familiarity in DC power systems (Galaxy, Alpha, Lorain) and technical drawings.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, work nonstandard hours, and handle physical tasks, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Compensation:

$63,150.00/Year - $90,000.00/Year
