Job Summary

Spherion is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards, and providing financial insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately
  • Prepare financial reports for management and stakeholders
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings
  • Prepare and analyze budgets and results
  • Manage banking relationships and reconcile multiple bank statements, domestic and international
  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger
  • Examine tax policies and interact with the outside tax firm
  • Prepare commission reports for review and sales and use tax returns for US and Canada
  • Assist with Accounts Payable and Receivable as needed and provide backup Payroll processing as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelors or master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in business finance
  • Experience with Microsoft office suite and Microsoft Dynamics
  • Background in sales and use tax is useful
  • Understanding of state, federal, and international financial regulations
