Job Overview

McAlvain Companies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Concrete Traveling Superintendent to lead our concrete construction efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in concrete construction, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the concrete construction process to ensure projects are executed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
  2. Develop and implement safety protocols to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  3. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  4. Recruit, train, and mentor foremen and other team members to ensure they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  5. Conduct regular safety audits and provide feedback to improve job site safety.
  6. Develop and implement project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  7. Provide technical assistance and constructability feedback to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  8. Participate in purchasing and scheduling commitments with project managers as necessary.
  9. Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality project outcomes.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a concrete superintendent in charge.
  2. Strong grasp of all building construction trades.
  3. Skilled in Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling.
  4. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  5. Safety standards knowledge including OSHA 30 or greater.
  6. Self-starter with the ability to set and ensure goals and tasks with strong leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Outbuild, and Primavera software.
  2. Self-perform concrete experience.
  3. Strong business development and client interface skills.
