Sunrise Senior Living, a leading provider of senior care services, seeks a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Manager to join our team. As a key member of our community, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of life for our residents.
Job Overview
The Medication Manager is responsible for providing safe, organized, and effective medication administration to our residents. This includes administering medications, documenting medication administration, and providing resident care that aligns with Sunrise's mission to champion quality of life for all seniors.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications safely and accurately, following established protocols and procedures.
- Document medication administration, including any refusals or missed doses.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information, including medication records.
- Report any resident concerns or issues to the Resident Care Director or Wellness Nurse.
- Restock medication carts and maintain a clean and organized medication room.
- Assist in checking medications, regardless of packaging system.
- Count narcotics with another Medication Manager or Lead Care Manager each shift.
- Maintain and clean treatment carts and ensure neatness, cleanliness, and availability of medications.
- Follow re-fill process for medications.
- Support resident independence and promote dignity, physical safety, and emotional well-being.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; certifications may be necessary depending on state or provincial regulations.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- At least 18 years old.
- Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to make choices and decisions in the best interest of residents.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
