Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant - Float to join our team. As a Medical Assistant - Float, you will play a critical role in supporting our healthcare teams and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and record patient vital signs, and document patient interview and medical history.
  • Catalog and communicate patient needs to the healthcare team.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests, and assist physicians with exams.
  • Observe patients and report any changes in patient conditions to the healthcare team.
  • Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions, and collect phlebotomy and other lab specimens.
  • Prepare and administer medications, and maintain accurate and legal documentation.
  • Process patient phone messages, and provide health coaching to patients to support healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and modified at manager's discretion.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare vocational training required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or similar in a hospital, medical clinic, or comparable environment required.
  • Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
  • EMR system experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within the first 90 days of employment.
