Job Summary:

The Product Engineer will be responsible for providing quality planning and support for all product lines and processes. This includes pipe fusion, pipe production, quality assessment, trend analysis, and material verification. Ensuring products meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and approve/reject fusion joint reports for fusion technicians
Oversee extruder locations for coordination of testing, reports, and troubleshooting of issues
Oversee 3rd party lab pipe extrusion tests
Maintain pipe quality and fusion databases
Accept/reject pipe lot runs based on extruder and lab results
Prepare tensile test specimens with CNC machine
Perform pipe tensile testing with Universal Testing Machine (UTM) and produce testing reports using UTM software
Interpret tensile test results to identify plastic deformation and ultimate strength
Provide technical support for work in process, new product evaluations, test and inspection activities as required
Review quality and field data to identify common themes in support of driving continuous improvement

Requirements:

BS in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Materials Science)
Ability to review, understand, and apply applicable standards and specifications
Efficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Passed the EIT exam with the goal of sitting for the PE exam after applications requirements are met
Must be willing to travel to subcontract labs, extruder locations, and jobsites (approx. 25% of job could include travel)

Preferred Skills:

BS in Polymer Engineering
Experience in underground utility infrastructure
Proficiency with AutoCAD
Proficiency with MathCAD
3 years' experience in a related field
