Responsibilities
  • Assist pathologists in performing anatomic and clinical pathology procedures
  • Analyze patient samples using various techniques, including histology, cytology, and molecular diagnostics
  • Prepare and present pathology reports to physicians and other healthcare professionals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as biology, chemistry, or medical technology
  • Completion of a Pathologist Assistant program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS)
  • Eligibility for certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent
