About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team at the SAO CPI Unit. As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our caseworkers in providing supervision of children without placement (CWOP). This position requires strong administrative skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.


Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $43,500 - $53,500, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer excellent health benefits, special discounts on various products and services, and a comprehensive retirement plan. Our employees also enjoy 12 days of paid annual leave, 12 sick days, and the potential to earn up to four days of administrative leave each year.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of full-time administrative support, general office, clerical, secretarial, or Texas Department of Family and Protective Services experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software

Job Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities as an Administrative Assistant will include:

  • Answering and screening telephone inquiries, taking and routing messages, and recording intake information for referral to caseworkers
  • Preparing correspondence, forms, travel vouchers, meeting notes, performance evaluations, and other documents to support the work of the unit
  • Assisting staff with office processes and operations, including troubleshooting office software and equipment problems
  • Maintaining a Master Tracking Chart system for progress updates and developing and maintaining various forms, case files, and reports
  • Performing data entry into IMPACT and other electronic programs and systems
