About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Economist to join our Development Macroeconomics Division as an Economist under a one-year contract. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience in macroeconomic modeling.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work on research projects of interest to the division, applying models to country cases in areas such as public investment, health shocks, and fiscal-monetary policy. Outputs will include jointly authored research papers and contributions to policy papers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on macroeconomic topics, including public investment, health shocks, and fiscal-monetary policy
  • Apply models to country cases, using techniques such as calibrated and estimated Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium models
  • Collaborate with colleagues to produce high-quality research papers and policy briefs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree or PhD in macroeconomics, monetary economics, financial economics, public finance, international trade, econometrics, or a related field
  • At least four years of relevant professional experience, or a minimum of two years of experience with a PhD
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and computer skills
  • An excellent command of English, written and oral
  • Familiarity with software packages such as Matlab and Dynare
What We Offer

This is a one-year contractual appointment, renewable for up to four years pending performance and business need. We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $120,000 per year, plus benefits and opportunities for professional development.
