Automotive Refinisher

• Compensation: $18 - $30.00 per hour based on experience, Plus efficiency Bonus

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for painting by grinding, sanding, and buffing
• Filling cavities and dents as necessary, and repairing surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish
• Clean and prepare surfaces using solvents, sandpaper, and wire brushes
• Select and mix paint to produce the desired color and finish according to specifications
• Apply paint to prepared surfaces, adjusting sprayer valves and nozzles to regulate width and pressure of spray
• Clean spraying equipment thoroughly with solvents
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Position articles in jigs or erect ladders or scaffolding

Qualifications:

• Background in paint and body repair
• Previous experience painting vehicles and equipment, with a minimum of 2 years hands-on experience
• A High School or GED equivalent required
• A certificate from an accredited technical or industrial trade school is preferred
• Self-starter with proficiency in budgeting time
