Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an effective calibration and preventative maintenance (PM) program to enhance production efficiency and ensure optimal machine uptime availability.
- Review equipment requirements to ensure that all calibration and PM needs are accurately documented.
- Establish and manage monthly schedules to ensure timely completion of equipment maintenance requirements while minimizing overtime.
- Regularly review calibration and PM records to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Continuously develop and improve the department's in-house calibration capabilities to reduce dependence on outside vendor calibration services.
- Coordinate with vendors for outside calibration and repair services when necessary.
- Maintain an effective maintenance database.
- Proactively improve the department's logistics and process functionality, striving for enhanced efficiency levels.
- Collaborate with engineering staff to recommend equipment and develop calibration/PM/repair work instructions/procedures.
- Investigate and drive non-conformances to closure as needed.
- Manage spare equipment and supplies storage.
- Oversee a team of technicians.
- Perform calibrations, PM, and repairs as needed.
- Develop strategies to reduce departmental costs while maintaining high quality and efficiency.
- Create and manage departmental budgets.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of work experience in a regulated manufacturing environment; a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences is preferred.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
- Experience or training in hazardous material emergency response is a plus.
- Experience with quality systems in a regulated industry is a plus.
Competencies
- Basic understanding of general engineering terms and concepts.
- Proficiency with computers and basic use of the Windows operating system environment is required (proficient at MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Estimated Salary
The estimated salary for this position is $66,000 - $88,550 per year.
