Job Summary:

The Student Services Specialist plays a critical role in the School of Education's Student Services Center, overseeing the practicum placement process for bachelor's and master's students. This position involves coordinating with school administrators, teachers, and university faculty to ensure smooth and successful practicum placements. The Specialist will also manage data management systems, facilitate communication between school divisions and university faculty, and contribute to diversity reporting efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the practicum placement process, including coordinating with school administrators, teachers, and university faculty.
  • Oversee data management systems and ensure accurate and timely data entry.
  • Facilitate communication between school divisions and university faculty to ensure successful practicum placements.
  • Contribute to diversity reporting efforts by producing summary reports of practicum placements.
  • Support students through classroom visits, orientations, and retention initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Director of the Student Services Center and collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient front desk coverage and support center operations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in education administration, student services, or related fields.
  • Experience working with school administrators, teachers, and university faculty.
  • Familiarity with educational programs and practicum requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of data management systems and proficiency in data entry.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and/or other relevant software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a K-12 teacher.
  • Master's degree in education or a related field.
Salary Range:

$41,400 - $50,000
