Electrical Engineer

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our R&D team and contribute to the development of innovative security products. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electro-mechanical systems, including specification, component selection, and critical component design.
Key Responsibilities:- Work closely with a cross-functional team to deliver best-in-class chemical detectors using Ion Mobility Spectrometry and Mass Spectrometry.
- Perform fundamental engineering duties in electrical design efforts, including development, integration, testing, measuring, and analyses/simulations for a variety of chemical trace detection products.
- Refine conceptual designs into complete production designs, incorporating the appropriate connectors, cables, and wiring to meet design criteria.
- Research, design, develop, modify, evaluate, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems.
- Create design specification documents.
- Develop test procedures and test fixtures in support of design validation.
- Collaborate with a global team, including CAD/PCB designers and technicians, on design development and release of products.
- Collaborate on best practices and promote adoption across the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field with 10+ years' experience, or a Master's degree in a related field and 8+ years' experience.
- Design and develop innovative technical hardware solutions for new products in the areas of High-Speed Digital Design.
- Strong communication skills, including excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Must possess the technical background and skills to perform in all phases of electrical circuit design, development, and documentation.
- X86 Microcontroller implementation using Assembly.
- Firm understanding of clock boundary conditions and asynchronous data collection.
- Development of Data Acquisition hardware using Finite State Machines, interfacing to high-speed mixed signal ASICs, signal Integrity techniques.
- Participate in a multi-functional engineering team environment to develop and integrate hardware, software, and network technology for products and systems.
- Familiar with MCU design.
- Work effectively across multiple corporate functions, including business, engineering, operations, and manufacturing.
- Must have good technical communication skills.
- Self-starter, motivated. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hardware debugging experience with scopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, Wireshark, etc.
- Xilinx ISE tool set, ISE14.4.
- Xilinx simulation tools.
- Altium Designer Schematic Capture and High Speed PCB Layout design.
- Knowledge of Ion Mobility Spectrometry and Mass Spectrometry.
- Knowledge of Product Development Process.
- Hands-on design, prototyping, and debugging experience.
- Design of high-voltage (8kv) design boards and interfacing with digital control systems.
