Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

Kindred Hospital Louisville is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology. The successful candidate will work closely with our medical team to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the achievement of our organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct ultrasound diagnostic procedures to produce high-quality images for medical interpretation.
  • Position patients and locate/scanning areas for interpretation as directed by the physician or radiologist.
  • Explain procedures to patients and/or family members to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
  • Develop film using automatic film processing equipment and assemble patient information for delivery to radiologists/physicians.
  • Prepare patient rooms by changing linens, stocking supplies, and cleaning equipment to maintain a clean and efficient working environment.
  • Assist physicians with procedures such as needle biopsies and renal biopsies.
  • Schedule patients and ensure they receive adequate service.
  • Maintain patient information and ultrasound equipment to ensure accurate records and optimal equipment performance.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Ultrasound training program or equivalent training as specified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Registration through the ARDMS (Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of Ultrasound experience is preferred.
