Senior Program Management Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Program Manager to lead the full spectrum of program support for the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS). The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience in government program management, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve program goals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the execution of the CHDS education and research mission, ensuring compliance with regulations and successful project delivery.
  • Lead direct communication and issue resolution with senior personnel associated with the program.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with government partners and other stakeholders to promote program initiatives and gather feedback.
  • Oversee program budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure efficient use of resources in accordance with funding guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit recurring and requested reports to government agencies, documenting all program activities and meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Provide oversight for Ph.D. level faculty and Project Leads.
  • Supervise and mentor program staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Identify potential risks to program success and develop mitigation strategies to address these challenges.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Master's degree is required; a Doctorate is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, preferably within government or public sector environments.
  • Well-rounded experience in all aspects of program management, including financial management, logistics procurement, and asset management.
  • Experience in teaching at an accredited graduate education institution is preferred.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on experience.
