Job Summary:

Graham is seeking a skilled Billing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations, you will be responsible for managing client portfolios, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining strong relationships with attorneys and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client account set-ups, billing arrangements, and account and inventory management for assigned client portfolios.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with attorneys throughout the billing cycle.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with attorneys, staff, and clients to ensure compliance with both attorney and client specifications.
  • Verify rates with rate analysts, review and implement outside counsel guidelines, monitor fee caps, tier discounts, and matter budgets.
  • Set up and monitor alerts, and communicate with the firm's Billing & Intake Committee regarding discounts, write-downs, and write-offs.
  • Ensure billing attorneys receive accurate prebills and return them in a timely manner, and confirm final bills have been submitted to the client and posted in the accounting system.
  • Collaborate with eBilling Coordinators for new client account set-ups with eBilling requirements, and work with the Accounting Systems Administrator to update appropriate fields according to client billing guidelines.
  • Provide clients with requested information on special billing arrangements, respond to inquiries relating to accruals, audits, and payment reports, and recommend solutions based on billing trends.
  • Monitor the unapplied cash report and offer resolution when applicable, and assist Accounts Receivable with accurate payment applications.
  • Establish effective back-up support processes to ensure seamless support for all portfolio matters.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Financial Management Systems software.
  • Related experience performing complex accounting analysis utilizing advanced Excel and reporting skills.

Work Environment:

This position routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as laptops, computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets in a home office as well as an in-person office environment.
