Responsibilities
- Perform daily walk-throughs to ensure part containment, equipment condition, and clear walkways in automation areas.
- Check email and JDE system daily for scheduled PMs and mold change schedules.
- Pit-stop equipment according to Molding Pit Stop schedule.
- Perform preventative maintenance duties on all equipment.
- Mold change set-up and part containment.
- Bailer trouble shooting and repair.
- Size change equipment.
- Repair offline and online Automation equipment, including Robots.
- Maintain high-level housekeeping in and around work areas.
- Perform job requirements in a safe and professional manner.
- Understand the importance of Food Safety, ISO, and Plant Safety Policies.
- Trained, acknowledged, and follow all Berry Safety Absolutes.
Qualifications
- Self-starter with eagerness to learn and take initiative.
- Ability to learn robotics and automation systems.
- Ability to learn how to read and understand wiring diagrams.
- Ability to troubleshoot pneumatics, AC or DC circuits, and motors.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical trouble shooting and repair.
- Ability to use tools needed for fabrication of aluminum, steel, and Lexan.
- Ability to properly use and read rulers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Ability to weld using stick, MIG, and TIG processes.
- Ability to use oxyacetylene torch.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Trade School, Technical, Mechanical certificate or degree is a plus.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical and Technology Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals.
- Basic computer skills including email, word processing, simple spreadsheets, and use of electronic forms.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
- Ability to comprehend and retain knowledge presented during the training process.
