Environmental Technician Job Description

At SCS Engineers, we are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Technician to join our team in Oklahoma City. As an Environmental Technician, you will work closely with scientists and engineers on various projects, including municipal solid waste landfill, groundwater well monitoring, industrial site inspections, and chemical/petroleum spill response.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fieldwork, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time.
  • Perform groundwater monitoring, landfill gas monitoring, landfill liner, cap, and/or gas system construction quality assurance (CQA), vapor monitoring, and field note preparation.
  • Participate in emergency spill response and site inspections.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree in an environmental, civil, or construction related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of related experience preferred but not required.
  • Completion or willingness to complete a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training required.
  • Solid technical, mechanical, and computer skills required.
  • Ability to travel overnight for work outside of the Oklahoma City area.
